FOR OUR DAIRY LOVERS:

Our sustainable dairy-based ice cream line is crafted with fresh hormone-free/antibiotic-free milk and cream from Upstate NY, a combination of cane sugar and dextrose for a balanced level of sweetness, and natural plant-based stabilizers. 

From there, we use some of the finest organic and certified non-GMO ingredients to create the most amazing Asian-inspired flavors you won’t find elsewhere.

 

ON A MISSION FOR DAIRY-FREE (LAUNCHING SOON - JULY/AUGUST 2018):

Our 100% plant-based dairy-free vegan line is made with nothing more than coconut milk, a combination of cane sugar and dextrose for a balanced level of sweetness, and natural plant-based stabilizers. 

From there, we use some of the finest organic and certified non-GMO ingredients to create innovative non-dairy ice cream options for all to enjoy.

TOASTED RICE

 

Our signature flavor is inspired by our love of rice! Comforting and simply unique, we make this flavor by slowly toasting Korean brown rice and whole grains, and steeping them like a tea in our base of fresh sustainable dairy until the perfect point. The result? A smooth buttercream texture and a nutty flavor reminiscent of waffle cones and grandma’s rice pudding.

Inspiration: Noo-roong-ji (누룽지)

Noo-roong-ji is a traditional Korean rice snack. The caramelized layer of crunchy rice that forms on the bottom of a pan of cooked rice.

TURMERIC HONEYCOMB

 

“LITTLE MISS SUNSHINE” 

Sunshine in a cup? Our Little Miss Sunshine is all you need. Delight in handfuls of organic turmeric, sweet cream and gooey ribbons of old-fashioned Korean honeycomb candy. 

Inspiration: Ppop-gi (뽑기)

Ppop-gi is an old-fashioned Korean honey candy and popular street treat. The bright and earthy notes of turmeric balance the sweetness of honeycomb and create this flavor’s beautiful sunshine yellow hue. It’s an instant favorite sure to make you smile.

BLACK SESAME

 

As Noona’s favorite, we had to make this Asian classic that much better. Nutty, bitter with slight undertones of chocolate, our black sesame seeds are roasted and stone ground into a paste before being fully blended into our sweet cream. Roasted whole seeds are folded in at the end to bring out the unique complexity of this beloved flavor. 

Inspiration: Heuk-im-ja (흑임자)

Heuk-im-ja is the Korean word for black sesame seeds. These seeds are a delicious and essential superfood ingredient in the Asian pantry. From morning shakes to a garnish, to pastries and ice cream, the nutty complex flavor of black sesame will have you coming back for more.

GOLDEN SESAME

 

The essence of Asian cuisine can be found in our Golden Sesame. Nutty white sesame seeds toasted until they’re golden brown and folded into our sesame-infused dairy. Deep and bright in flavor, our Golden Sesame is a timeless way to connect you to Asian tradition.

Inspiration: Bokkeun-kkae (볶은깨)

The Korean word for toasted white sesame seeds is Bokkeun-kkae. These seeds have a unique nutty flavor that adds brightness and depth to any dish. In ice cream form, this flavor is all about tasting with your mind open. A favorite among those seeking the perfect balance of savory and sweet.

GREEN TEA

 

Organic Green tea leaves stone ground and cold-steeped in our grass fed dairy. Earthy, lush and pure. This one’s a total gem. 

Inspiration: Nok-cha (녹차)

Nok-cha is the Korean word for green tea. In Asian culture, the tea has many applications that go beyond tea drinking and ice cream. With its powerful antioxidants, green tea is a special ingredient added to beauty and health products. Green Tea is very much a way of life.

CHERRY SPICED TEA

South Korea has a long history of making tea with fruits and the spices from roots and barks of woody and flowery plants. Our Cherry Spiced Tea is inspired by a traditional Korean tea called “Sujeonggwa”. 

Inspiration: Su-jeong-gwa (수정과)

Sujeonggwa is a Korean spiced tea made with cinnamon, ginger and peppercorns. It's often paired with fruit, and we partnered with Brooklyn maker Stagg Jam to create a tart cherry jam that makes this flavor stand out.

Korean spiced tea with pear! 

South Korea has a long history of making tea with fruits and the spices from roots and barks of woody and flowery plants.

Noona means "big sister" in Korean. My love for being a noona and sharing good food with others inspired me to start Noona’s Ice Cream in 2016. 

Although sweets are not traditionally a highlight of Asian cuisine, my fondest memories revolve around family-style Korean meals that always ended with ice cream and laughter. 

Noona's small batch Asian-inspired ice cream flavors are based on recipes passed down through generations as well as ones I developed through years of cooking. Cooking with ingredients I'm passionate about has always been my way of connecting and communicating with others, and it's with the same sense of responsibility and joy that I share Noona's ice creams with you.

I look to enrich the communities we live and work with, and provide a refreshing new approach to the way we all connect with and experience flavor. Noona's Ice Cream looks to put quality back into ice cream while bringing something new and different to the table.
