This time, we’ve partnered up with our dear friends at Hana Makgeolli, a Brooklyn-based makgeolli brewer that we believe to be the best Makgeolli around. Our first batch of Makgeolli Blues ever made was back in 2019 using Hana Makgeolli’s makgeolli lees (the remnants, leftover waste from the brewing fermentation process). During the time that Hana Makgeolli was building their Brooklyn brewery, we weren’t able to get our hands on their makgeolli, but now we can so we are over the moon thrilled to announce this collaboration once again.

A little boozy and reminiscent of Asian white rabbit milk candies you can find at the candy aisle of any Asian grocer. Simple but has a little something something extra, it’s the perfect pint to enjoy on your own or with loved ones while you play back some old tunes.

What makes this flavor color blue? We blend butterfly pea flower powder to make this flavor blue. It’s rich in antioxidants and a fantastic ingredient to naturally make our ice cream blue without any artificial coloring.

Why did you choose to make this flavor blue? Every Noona’s flavor is attached to an emotion and memory in time. This one is no different. We thought it would be nice to have a flavor that encapsulated those days where you wander into wonder and daydream and get lost in the carefree dimension of those thoughts and those feelings of longing for something that hasn’t yet happened but is about to. Float. Dream. Wonder.
