This is a flavor steeped in memory. Our Toasted Rice Ice Cream gave Noona’s a name when we won best flavor for it at NYC’s annual ice cream contest on the Lower East Side @hesterstfair back in July 2016.
From drunken nights of craving rice at 4 AM to the smell of mama’s rice tea pudding tea on the stove when homesick to the sweet warm whiffs of freshly made waffle cones when passing a little ice cream shop during an afternoon run, Noona’s Toasted Rice encapsulates the comforting aroma of such memories. In this pint, you’ll find the flavor of pan-roasted rice grains infused in sweet cream with layers of malty nutty goodness thanks to our house-made caramelized rice crunchies speckled throughout.
Our recipe is still the same as it’s been and will carry on but we added bits of house-made caramelized rice crunchies folded into the mix, just for the fun of it.
